Difficulty level : Beginner
iWhat does this level mean?
- Beginner: one large subject and big areas to paint, little detail. Ideal for a first canvas.
- Intermediate: several elements or colour gradients, with smaller areas. It takes a little more care and a fine brush in places.
- Advanced: a busy scene with many small areas and small faces to paint with a fine brush. For experienced painters, or with patience.
Tip: on a larger canvas the areas are bigger and easier to paint.
Peppa Pig and George kite paint by numbers
Peppa takes one side of the string and George the other while a diamond kite with coloured bows on its tail lifts above a green hill. Sky blue fills the top half of the linen canvas, grass green the bottom, the red of Peppa's dress and a yellow sun between them. Every area carries a number, so you match pot to number instead of mixing.
The shapes stay large across the scene. The smallest areas are the faces and the bows on the tail.
Tips for painting this design
Paint the sky first with the broad brush, in one pass: going back over dried acrylic shows as patches. Then the sun and clouds, keeping the white edges clean where they meet blue. Red goes on the dress and the kite last with the fine brush, and the green hill closes the bottom.
Pick a square size. 30x30 cm and 40x40 cm hold the composition as drawn; a rectangular canvas adds strips of sky or grass that carry no numbers. The kite string is the thinnest line on the canvas and blurs below 20x30 cm. Our paint by numbers kits for kids and beginners share the same printed layout.
Sizes, colours and painting time
The design comes in 9 sizes from 20x30 to 60x80 cm, with 24, 36 or 48 colours. The 48-colour set adds shades for the sky; the 24-colour set covers the flat blocks. Rolled canvas arrives without a frame, and the wooden bars are worth assembling before you start so the linen stays taut. Allow around 8 to 20 hours, and we dispatch within 48 hours.
The rest of the Peppa Pig paint by numbers range uses the same numbered system, so your brushes carry over.
What's in the kit
Canvas:Printed linen with outlines and numbers for Peppa, George, the kite and the hill.
Paint:Numbered acrylic pots, ready to use, with the sky blue, green, pink, red, yellow and white the design needs.
Brushes:Three. Fine for the string and faces, medium for the characters, broad for the sky and hill.
Guide:A paper copy of the drawing to check numbers on the clouds and kite.
Optional:Wooden stretcher bars, flat packed, to stretch the canvas before painting. You can also choose it already mounted on its frame, ready to hang.

Without frame
The canvas arrives rolled in a tube. You paint it flat and frame it afterwards if you wish.

Wooden stretcher bars to assemble stretch the canvas. You paint on a taut surface and hang the picture on the wall.
Mounted canvas
The canvas arrives already stretched on its wooden frame. You start painting right away and hang the picture on the wall.
Questions about this design
Which size should I pick for this Peppa Pig and George kite canvas?
The drawing is square. 30x30 cm and 40x40 cm keep the proportions as drawn, with the kite in the upper half and the hill across the bottom. Rectangular sizes add strips of sky or grass. Below 20x30 cm the kite string gets hard to follow.
Can a child paint this without help?
Most of it. The numbered areas are large and the colours sit in flat blocks, so the sky and the hill fill quickly. The kite string, the faces and the bows on the tail need a steady hand and the fine brush, and an adult can take those parts.
How long does the kit take to finish?
Around 8 to 20 hours, depending on the size. A 30x30 cm canvas takes a few afternoons. The 60x80 cm and 60x80 cm formats ask for more sessions because the sky area grows with the format.
