iWhat does this level mean?
- Beginner: one large subject and big areas to paint, little detail. Ideal for a first canvas.
- Intermediate: several elements or colour gradients, with smaller areas. It takes a little more care and a fine brush in places.
- Advanced: a busy scene with many small areas and small faces to paint with a fine brush. For experienced painters, or with patience.
Tip: on a larger canvas the areas are bigger and easier to paint.
A Gorjuss Girl with Teddy Bear Paint by Numbers to Paint Yourself
Her long black hair falls over a white embroidered dress, and striped socks rest next to a red cushion and a green cushion on a beige background. The grey teddy bear is held close to her chest. Behind her, a large paned window shows the rain falling. Most of the canvas is medium detail; the pink cheeks and the small black eyes are the finest areas to fill. We print the outlines and numbers on linen canvas and pack numbered acrylic pots, three brushes and a paper reference chart. Framed in the wooden option, the beige and grey tones sit calmly on a bedroom or hallway wall. The scene is one of the quieter designs in our Gorjuss paint by numbers range.
Tips for painting this design
Block in the beige background and the paned window first so the composition has its frame. Paint the raindrops behind the glass before the girl's silhouette, then work the black hair in even strokes to keep it flat. The white embroidered dress and the striped socks take the fine brush, and the red and green cushions cover more canvas than they look, so keep the paint thin and use the wide brush. Two coats on the pale greys of the teddy bear stop the linen texture showing through. Sizes run from 20x20 to 50x60 cm and the work takes around 12 to 30 hours; above 40x40 cm the eyes and the dress embroidery stay easy to follow. The smallest sizes, 20x20 and 20x30 cm, sit in our mini paint by numbers range.
Sizes, colours and painting time
The design comes in 20x20 to 50x60 cm (9 sizes). You choose a 24, 36 or 48 colour kit, on rolled canvas, with a wooden frame to assemble or with the canvas already mounted on its frame (except in 50x70 and 60x80 cm, delivered rolled). Allow around 12 to 30 h depending on the size.
What's in the kit
Canvas:the printed linen canvas carries the outlines and numbers of the long-haired girl, the grey bear and the paned window.
Paint:the numbered acrylic pots cover the beige, grey, white, black, red and green in the design. Pick 24, 36 or 48 colours on your option.
Brushes:the fine brush is for the small black eyes, the cheeks and the sock stripes, the medium for the white dress, the wide for the cushions and the background.
Guide:the paper chart lets you check the numbers for the embroidered dress, the teddy bear and the rain outside.
Optional:the wooden frame to assemble stretches the printed canvas of the girl at the window, otherwise the canvas arrives rolled. You can also choose it already mounted on its frame, ready to hang.- Dispatch: we send the kit within 48 hours.

Without frame
The canvas arrives rolled in a tube. You paint it flat and frame it afterwards if you wish.
With frame
Wooden stretcher bars to assemble stretch the canvas. You paint on a taut surface and hang the finished picture on the wall.
Mounted canvas
The canvas arrives already stretched on its wooden frame. You start painting right away and hang the picture on the wall.
Questions about this design
Which size should I choose for this Gorjuss design?
The artwork is square, so the square options of 20x20, 20x20, 40x40 and 50x50 cm keep the proportions of the scene. A rectangular canvas crops the window or the cushions. Go for 40x40 cm or larger if you want the black eyes and the dress embroidery easy to follow.
Are the facial details difficult to paint?
The pink cheeks and the small black eyes are the tightest areas on the canvas. Use the fine brush, keep the paint slightly thin and fill one cheek at a time. If a line strays onto the black hair, let the acrylic dry and cover it with the hair colour.
Who is this paint by numbers kit for?
Beginners can paint it: the medium level of detail leaves room to learn, and the fine brush handles the cheeks and eyes. Gorjuss fans and anyone drawn to indoor scenes will recognise the doll and the rainy window.
