Tanjiro Kamado holds his Japanese sword in both hands against a pale pink sky. You paint his black and red hair, the scar on his forehead, the rectangular earrings and the green and black checked haori, each in its numbered area. Around him, stylised blue waves topped with white foam roll beneath drawn clouds. The dominant colours are green, black, blue, white and brown, with the pink of the sky behind. Tips for painting this design

Start with the pale pink sky and the clouds to lay down the base. Move on to the large blue areas of the waves, which cover the most canvas and let you settle into the rhythm of the numbers. Paint the character last. The checked haori asks you to change colour on small neighbouring areas, so keep the fine brush for it, along with the scar and the earrings. Let the blue dry before putting the white foam over it. A 40x50 cm canvas or larger gives those close details more room. Expect around 20 to 40 hours depending on the size. • Brushes:Three brushes (fine, medium and wide). The fine one is for the scar and earrings, the medium for the curves of the waves, the wide for the sky and the large blue areas.
• Guide:The paper guide lets you check the numbers for the waves and the sword held in both hands.
• Optional:Choose the wooden frame to assemble, or keep the canvas rolled without a frame. You can also choose it already mounted on its frame, ready to hang.
